Almighty God reveals himself to us as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and in doing so reveals His overwhelming glory (Isaiah 6 and Rev 5) and embraces us with His tender kindness making us His children (John 3). Mark's Gospel is the shortest and thought to be the earliest of the gospels. In the lead up to Easter, we will be following Jesus as he interacts with a variety of people, all the while revealing his mission, identity and vision for the world.
1 and 2 Samuel recounts Israel's transition from a tribal social structure to a monarchy in the 11th Century BC. In the light of social and national fragility, God's permanence and dependence remains steadfast.
