Beautitudes: the Blessed Life Pt 3 (8:30am)

The Beatitudes, the eight epigrammatic statements that start the Sermon on the Mount, are probably the best known part of Jesus' teaching, but also possibly the least understood! This series seeks to unlock their meaning and show how they are just as relevant to us today as they were to those who first followed Jesus, because they reveal the character of a true disciple. (Please note, bible study questions relating to the sermon can be accessed by clicking on the paperclip icon, found on the right).

The early Jerusalem church gives us a view of what it means to be a community of Jesus Christ. This is our second week where we consider how this might impact our priorities and direction as a North Shore church in the 21st Century. We are still looking the last paragraph from Acts 2.

Undivided – the letter of James Pt 12

At the end of James' firm letter of correction, he addresses four human conditions: (i) troubled, (ii) happy, (iii) sick, and (iv) straying. In every situation we ought to turn to God in prayer, depending upon his sovereign and sufficient answer.

Why Christianity Makes Sense

Just as in Colossae in the 1st century AD so to today it is so easy to be taken captive by "hollow philosophies". Now, as then, freedom from such deception is found in Christ, who brings us a "fullness" that no other worldview can provide. And that is why Christianity makes sense.
