When we are doubtful, sad or drifting, Jesus stands victorious over death and He guarantees the same for us. His resurrection frees us from every heavy load.
It is finished. We can entrust ourselves to Jesus, relying on His death to pay our debt, knowing that the promised king has accomplished His saving works.
The Holy Spirit teaches us what Jesus has taught us and remind us and convict us of those truths. With God in us, we are not alone or weak. We have everything we need to go and do Jesus' work.
God's love entered the world in Jesus and we participate in His mind and His character when we live this life of love. It is what creatures are made for: the blessed life.
Will we give up rationalisations, distractions and preferences and instead confront the crucified and risen Jesus, the resurrection and the life, as he asks, "Do you believe?"
A rule-based approach to the faith will blind us to God's grace. The true, good Shepherd delivers us, laid down His life for us and looks after His flock.
