Day 11 – Isaiah 47:1-15 Babylon Exposed, Babylon Fallen
Babylon appears secure, luxurious, and powerful, but God exposes her pride and brings her suddenly and completely to ruin.

Babylon appears secure, luxurious, and powerful, but God exposes her pride and brings her suddenly and completely to ruin.

Idols are burdens that must be carried, but the LORD carries, sustains, and rescues his people.

There is no other God and no other Saviour, so the whole world is invited to turn to the LORD and be saved.

The Lord names Cyrus before he is born, showing that he alone rules history and can use even unlikely people to fulfil his saving purposes.

God’s people are formed, chosen, and redeemed by the LORD, so they must not be fooled by the attractive emptiness of idols.

God encourages his failed servant people not to fear, because he has redeemed them, called them by name, and promised to do a new thing.

The world is called to sing because God is doing a new thing, but God’s own servant people must first face their blindness and sin.

God introduces his perfect Servant, who will bring justice to the nations and light to those in darkness.
