Belshazzar does not submit himself before the Most High God, whom Daniel serves and depends upon for all things. As a result, Belshazzar's reign comes to a sudden end and we are challenged to repent of any defiant response to God.
At the end of James' firm letter of correction, he addresses four human conditions: (i) troubled, (ii) happy, (iii) sick, and (iv) straying. In every situation we ought to turn to God in prayer, depending upon his sovereign and sufficient answer.
