More than merely seeing the Father, Jesus wants us to know Him. Seeing him, knowing him, and believing him impels us to do the Father's works.

God is a running, embracing, forgiving father. We need to convey that picture of God to a world that doesn't know Him.

The potential conflict between God the Father's compassion for his "son" Israel and his anger at their sin is only resolved in Christ, the true son, who enables us all to be children of God, childlike but not childish.
